AFL England recruits for the UK National Cup
AFL England has announced the introduction of the UK National Cup – a competition that’s the first of it kind in the UK and will include players from all nationalities playing within the English, Scottish, Welsh, University and European Leagues.
The National Cup will be an exciting competition to not only crown the first ever Premiers of the UK, but also for players from different nationalities and teams to learn from one another. Jason Hill, Head of Performance at AFL England, said that the National Cup is a great way to raise the standard of men and women’s footy across the British Isles. The Aussie Rules committees of Scotland Wales were keen to get on board with this fantastic competition and are excited to showcase the talent offered by players within the British Leagues.
A live draft will be held in June for Head Coaches to choose their sides, followed by three rounds of matches and grand finals all taking place during September. For more information and to apply for the draft, click here.
