Cergy Coyotes to play Paris Cockerels in the CNFA Grand Final

After the Paris Cockerels booked their spot in the CNFA Grand Final last week with a win over the Paris Cockatoos, on Saturday evening their opponents were announced when the Cergy Coyotes defeated the Toulouse Hawks in an impressive away victory. With five wins from their seven home and away matches, the Coyotes have made an already solid season even better with this huge preliminary final win last weekend.

Despite coming into the fixture as underdogs, the Coyotes 15-point victory will see them take their place in the CNFA Grand Final to be played back in Toulouse on the 26th of May.

Norrtälje holds taster session to promote women’s footy

The second of AFL Sweden’s ‘Women’s Football Taster Sessions’ kicked off last Thursday when AFL Sweden President Ryan Tucker and the Norrtälje Football Club spread the great game of AFL football with women in the region. Patrons in attendance learned the basics of the game at the Norrtälje Sportcentrum. Next week, the venue will hold a women’s practice game showcasing the continuing growth of the sport across the country.



Kangaroos on the board in the 2018 DAFL

In an upset on Saturday, the Aalborg Kangaroos defeated the previously undefeated Copenhagen Giants to register their first victory of the 2018 season. Playing at home the Kangaroos kicked truly to win a tight contest against the Giants by just 13 points. The win has big ramifications for the DAFL league, with the Copenhagen Barracudas now the only undefeated side in the competition after six rounds. In the other game of the round at Lyngholmskolen, the Farum Cats pushed back up to third place on the ladder with a comfortable 30-point victory over the Odense Lions.

Demon Delight as Wandsworth edge North London

In two highly contested matches, the Wandsworth Demons men ‘s and women’s premiership sides won very tight matches against fierce North London outfits. The women’s fixture was a low scoring affair in tough conditions with just three goals scored for the match. It went right down to the wire, but it was the Demons who prevailed by three points. Similarly the men’s contest was a tight tussle that saw men from both sides put their body on the line for four quarters to produce another AFL London classic.

Again it went down the wire and again it was the Wandsworth Demons victorious by just seven points.

Norwood FC to prepare for 2019 in Croatia

South Australian National Football League side (SANFL) Norwood Football Club will travel to Croatia in October. With the help of Norwood listed player and former captain of the Croatian national team Tomislav Cvetko, the Redlegs are set to play a friendly against the Croatians. This occasion marks the first time a professional football club from Australia has travelled to the country for pre-season preparations.



Port Malmö to host Swedish Cup

The Port Malmö Lynx will host the 2018 Swedish Cup next month. The event featuring nine teams from Sweden and Oslo is set to be played in Limhamnsfältet, Malmo. After a solid Champions League performance, the Lynx women’s side will look to press home their advantage in the 2018 version of the competition. While in the men’s competition, the Södermalm Football Club, Solna Axemen and the Oslo Crows lead a highly talented contingent vying to get their hands on the trophy.
